You generate your weekly plan whenever you want
Cookrange's meal planning isn't a pre-made list — it's a weekly program built from your body, your goals and what you can actually cook. A sample week runs 28 meals; once the plan is confirmed, the shopping list is ready on its own.
Allergies and preferences are filtered before you see anything
If peanuts, shellfish or any allergen must never appear in the plan, that filter is applied before meals are ever shown to you. Ingredients you dislike are excluded the same way — the plan doesn't tell you "don't eat this," it simply never suggests it.
Mid-day: fast logging
There are five ways to log a meal: today's plan, quick add, barcode, photo analysis, recipe generation. Barcode logging pulls from the Open Food Facts database — calories, portion and macros land in your log. Recipe generation draws from your daily AI quota. A meal you skip logging is data you never get back.
Hydration is tracked right there with it
Onboarding works out a daily water target from your weight and activity level, and can set up reminders spread across your waking hours if you want them. From the home screen's daily summary card, you log water in 250 ml taps — your goal sits right next to calories and your streak in the same "today" view.
Photo analysis produces a lot more than one number
Photograph a meal and the AI extracts the four core macros (calories, protein, carbs, fat) plus seven more fields: fiber, sugar, sodium, a health score from 0-100, a confidence score for the estimate, possible allergen warnings, and a portion estimate. The health score, confidence score, fiber/sugar/sodium values and allergen warnings show up directly on the scan screen; what reaches your permanent log is, as always, calories and the four macros.
Meal states update through the day
Every meal shows one of three states: logged (already eaten), now (the meal that's up next), and upcoming. Calories you burn show up on top of today's target through the day — see the Cookrange AI page for how that works; this page only covers how the plan itself gets built.
Snacks are part of the plan, one tap at a time
The plan isn't just breakfast, lunch and dinner — snacks like a banana, an apple or a protein bar sit in the day as their own layer, and you can add or remove them with a single tap. Describe what you actually ate in your own words — something like "poured chocolate sauce on the banana" — and it's turned into calories and macros added to your log. Anything you've already logged never changes retroactively.
Template builder: AI, from scratch, or from a coach
Beyond your own weekly plan, a gym or coach can build a separate "template" to share with you — one of three ways: AI-generated (the allergen filter is mandatory here too), built from scratch on a day × meal grid (dish search, drag-to-reorder, copy/paste a day or week), or forked from your own saved template or one someone else shared. Whichever way, day and week nutrition totals recalculate instantly on every edit — the work of a single, separately-tested calculation class with no Firebase dependency; the AI generation inside the template builder never trusts its own reported numbers, this calculation always decides the total.
The same calculation closed a bug: swapping a meal today also updates your plan's total calories and macros — it no longer gets stuck at the old value.
A gym or coach can send you a plan
Your gym or coach — only if you're genuinely a member or client — can send you a template; it lands as its own card in your offer inbox and your chat: 28 meals, nutrition values, deviation from your own target, and an allergen check all show up in the preview. Accept it and the template copies into your own plan, with the old one archived to history — nobody writes into your plan directly, you're the one copying it when you accept. Decline it and a quiet notification goes to the sender, no pressure on you. An offer left unanswered for 14 days expires on its own.
Shopping list
Every ingredient across a 28-meal week lands in one list. Check items off as you buy them. The dish pool has 100 Turkish recipes — 28 of them snacks — and the shopping list is built from their real ingredients.

This page covers the feature itself. For a broader introduction: meal plan app walks through what daily use looks like on a phone, and AI meal plan generator explains step by step how a plan is built from scratch. Want your calorie and macro numbers first? The calorie and macro calculator runs the same formula on one page.
