Accessibility Statement

1. Our Commitment and Target

Cookrange aims to make the cookrangeapp.com website and mobile app accessible to as wide a range of users as possible. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This target informs our design decisions from the start — color contrast, keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators, and support for prefers-reduced-motion.

2. Current Status (Honest Summary)

Important: this statement describes the standard we are targeting; it isnot a claim that the site is fully WCAG 2.2 AA conformant today. A comprehensive, page-by-page accessibility audit (automated axe-core scans plus manual keyboard/screen-reader testing) is planned as "Phase 8" in the project roadmap and has not been completed yet. Once that audit is done, this page will be updated with real findings and any open non-conformances.

During development, automated accessibility checks (axe-core) and a Lighthouse accessibility score are part of our CI/CD pipeline (see docs/ARCHITECTURE.md); this is not a substitute for a full manual audit.

3. European Accessibility Act (EAA) Context

Since the European Union is one of Cookrange's secondary target markets, we take into account Directive (EU) 2019/882, the European Accessibility Act ("EAA"), and the national legislation that transposes it in each member state. The exact scope of the EAA's application to Cookrange (including any "micro-enterprise" exemptions that may apply at this early stage) will be confirmed during legal review as the company's size and EU commercial activity become clearer.

4. Known Limitations

  • The homepage's cinematic, scroll-triggered 3D narrative is designed to fall back to a simplified, static version under prefers-reduced-motion; that simplified version has not yet been accessibility-tested.
  • Some site content (e.g. blog, glossary) does not yet exist, so its accessibility is outside the scope of this statement; it will be included in the audit once published.
  • The accessibility of the mobile app (iOS/Android) is a separate platform and is outside the scope of this web statement.
